Our commitment to research integrity and ethical publishing

Overview

Pearl Academic Publishing is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. Our policies align with guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other recognized bodies. All participants in the publication process - authors, reviewers, and editors - are expected to uphold these standards.

For Authors

Originality and Plagiarism
  • Submissions must be original work not previously published
  • Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously
  • Proper citation and attribution is required for all referenced work
  • Manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism using standard detection tools
Authorship
  • All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work
  • Authorship should reflect conceptualization, methodology, analysis, writing, or review
  • All authors must approve the final version and agree to submission
  • Ghost authorship and gift authorship are prohibited
  • Changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all parties
Conflicts of Interest
  • Authors must disclose all financial and non-financial conflicts of interest
  • Funding sources must be acknowledged
  • Relationships that could bias the work must be reported
Data and Reproducibility
  • Authors should provide sufficient detail for reproducibility
  • Data availability statements are encouraged
  • Fabrication or falsification of data is strictly prohibited
Human and Animal Research
  • Research involving human subjects must have appropriate ethical approval
  • Informed consent must be obtained and documented
  • Animal research must follow ethical guidelines and receive approval

For Reviewers

  • Reviews should be objective, constructive, and timely
  • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality of manuscripts
  • Conflicts of interest must be disclosed to the editor
  • Reviewers should not use unpublished information from manuscripts
  • Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate

For Editors

  • Editorial decisions are based on merit, not author identity or affiliation
  • Editors maintain confidentiality of submitted work
  • Conflicts of interest are disclosed and managed appropriately
  • Editors respond to ethics concerns and investigate allegations

Handling Misconduct

If misconduct is suspected or reported:

  • The editorial team will investigate following COPE guidelines
  • Authors will be given opportunity to respond
  • Outcomes may include rejection, retraction, or notification to institutions
  • Serious cases may be reported to appropriate authorities

Corrections and Retractions

  • Erratum: Minor errors that do not affect conclusions
  • Corrigendum: Significant errors requiring correction
  • Retraction: Withdrawal due to serious concerns about validity or integrity
